1. Acceptance of Terms

By participating in Hairitage Day programs, events, or activities—whether in person or online—you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Parents and legal guardians agree on behalf of minors under 18.

2. Eligibility & Participation

Hairitage Day is designed for children, teens, and families. Participation requires:

  • Event registration
  • Parent or guardian consent for minors
  • Compliance with event safety guidelines

Organizers reserve the right to refuse or remove participation for misconduct, safety concerns, or policy violations.

3. Health, Hair-Care & Services

Hairitage Day provides educational hair-care services designed to build confidence and hair-identity awareness.

Parents and guardians acknowledge:

  • Hair products may contain ingredients that could cause reactions in sensitive individuals
  • It is their responsibility to disclose allergies or medical sensitivities
  • Hairitage Day is not liable for undisclosed or unknown allergies

A separate allergy disclaimer may be applied to registration if requested.

4. Media, Photo & Video Consent

Photography and video may be captured during events for:

  • Educational documentation
  • Program reporting
  • Marketing and storytelling
  • Public awareness
  • Donor and sponsor updates

Parents and guardians may opt for:

  • ✔ Full media consent
  • ✔ Limited media consent
  • ✔ No media consent

All consent selections are honored.

5. Behavioral Expectations

Hairitage Day maintains a safe and supportive environment. Participants agree to:

  • Respect volunteers, staff, stylists, families, and youth
  • Avoid disruptive or harmful behavior
  • Follow safety instructions during services

Harassment, bullying, or discrimination will result in removal without refund (if applicable).

6. Volunteers, Partners & Vendors

All volunteers, stylists, educators, and partners must:

  • Meet compliance requirements
  • Follow child-safety standards
  • Honor confidentiality
  • Respect non-recruitment rules

Partnering does not grant ownership, rights, or usage permissions to the program or brand.

7. Non-Recruitment & Non-Solicitation Clause

No participant, partner, volunteer, vendor, or organization may solicit, hire, recruit, or poach Hairitage Day volunteers, stylists, staff, or partners for external programs, events, or business activities without written approval from Hairitage Day or The Walker Foundation.

Violations may result in legal action.

8. Intellectual Property & Program Protection

All elements of Hairitage Day are protected intellectual property, including:

  • Curriculum modules
  • Confidence framework
  • Logos and designs
  • Branding and marketing
  • Event processes
  • Educational formats
  • Hair-care scripts and language
  • Photographic content
  • Waivers and registrations

Unauthorized copying, reproducing, recreating, or repackaging of the program is prohibited.

9. Non-Defamation & Non-Disparagement

Participants agree not to defame, slander, or publicly disparage Hairitage Day, The Walker Foundation, their staff, volunteers, partners, or families.

This includes statements made:

  • In person
  • Online
  • On social media
  • In professional settings
  • Through implied reputation harm
10. Safety & Liability

Hairitage Day takes precautionary safety measures; however, participation is voluntary.

Parents and guardians acknowledge:

  • Minor risks may exist with hair-care products or tools
  • Allergies are unpredictable if undisclosed
  • No medical treatment is provided onsite unless emergency response is necessary
  • The organization is not responsible for damages from undisclosed conditions
11. Refunds & Program Changes
  • All program registrations are non-refundable unless events are cancelled
  • Hairitage Day may reschedule, modify, or relocate events due to safety, weather, or operational needs
12. Third-Party Links & External Websites

Hairitage Day may share educational or resource links but is not responsible for external website content, privacy policies, claims, or representations.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri.

14. Modifications to Terms

Hairitage Day may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated versions will include a revised effective date.
