HAIRitage Day® Logo Protection & Brand Use Policy
1. Purpose
The Walker Foundation has established this Logo Protection & Brand Use Policy to protect the identity, reputation, integrity, and ownership of the HAIRitage Day® name, logo, artwork, graphics, designs, slogans, and related branding.
The HAIRitage Day® logo represents an official program and event of The Walker Foundation. Its use must remain consistent with the mission, standards, and authorization of The Walker Foundation.
2. Ownership
The HAIRitage Day® logo, name, visual identity, artwork, graphics, promotional designs, and associated branding are the exclusive property of The Walker Foundation, subject to applicable intellectual-property laws and registrations.
Providing a person or organization with a copy of the logo does not transfer ownership or grant unrestricted rights to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, or license it.
3. No Unauthorized Use
No individual, organization, business, vendor, sponsor, volunteer, employee, contractor, or other third party may use the HAIRitage Day® logo without authorization from The Walker Foundation.
Unauthorized uses include, but are not limited to:
- Copying or reproducing the logo.
- Altering, redrawing, recreating, tracing, or modifying the logo.
- Changing its colors, fonts, wording, proportions, or design.
- Removing The Walker Foundation's identification from authorized materials.
- Using portions of the logo to create another logo or brand.
- Creating a logo that is intentionally confusingly similar to the HAIRitage Day® logo.
- Placing the logo on unauthorized merchandise, clothing, products, websites, flyers, advertisements, signage, tickets, badges, or promotional materials.
- Using the logo to imply sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, or affiliation that has not been approved.
- Selling, licensing, transferring, or providing the logo to another party without authorization.
4. No Banishing, Erasing, or Removing the HAIRitage Day® Logo
The HAIRitage Day® logo shall not be intentionally removed, erased, hidden, cropped out, covered, replaced, distorted, obscured, or otherwise eliminated from official HAIRitage Day® materials when the logo is required as part of the approved design.
No person or organization may intentionally attempt to diminish or eliminate the HAIRitage Day® identity from materials created for or representing HAIRitage Day®.
5. Website & Social Media Protection
The public may learn about, view, and share information concerning HAIRitage Day® by going to The Walker Foundation's official website and authorized social media platforms.
Images, graphics, flyers, videos, logos, and other materials appearing on these platforms remain protected materials. Public availability does not grant permission for another person or organization to claim ownership, alter the branding, create derivative branding, or use the materials commercially without authorization.
6. Sponsors, Vendors & Community Partners
Approved sponsors, vendors, and community partners may receive limited permission to use the HAIRitage Day® logo solely for the specific event, campaign, partnership, or promotional purpose authorized by The Walker Foundation.
Permission does not create ownership rights.
7. Merchandise
No HAIRitage Day® merchandise may be manufactured, reproduced, distributed, sold, or offered for sale without written authorization from The Walker Foundation.
This includes shirts, hats, bags, wristbands, banners, signs, promotional products, digital merchandise, and other branded products.
8. Digital and Artificial Intelligence Use
The HAIRitage Day® logo may not be uploaded into or used with artificial-intelligence systems, design generators, logo generators, image-generation platforms, or similar technologies for the purpose of recreating, substantially modifying, imitating, or producing competing branding without authorization from The Walker Foundation.
9. Photography, Video & Media
Authorization to photograph, record, cover, or promote a HAIRitage Day® event does not automatically grant ownership or licensing rights to the HAIRitage Day® logo.
Media organizations and content creators must maintain the integrity of the HAIRitage Day® branding when using approved materials.
10. Prohibition Against Creating a Confusingly Similar Brand
No person associated with HAIRitage Day® may use access to The Walker Foundation's branding, materials, event concepts, or internal resources to intentionally create or promote a logo or event identity designed to mislead the public into believing that it is HAIRitage Day® or officially affiliated with The Walker Foundation.
11. Reporting Unauthorized Use
Employees, volunteers, board members, vendors, sponsors, and partners who discover suspected unauthorized use of the HAIRitage Day® logo should immediately report the matter to The Walker Foundation.
Screenshots, photographs, website information, social media posts, advertisements, or other evidence should be preserved when possible.
12. Enforcement
The Walker Foundation reserves the right, consistent with applicable law, to take appropriate action concerning unauthorized use of its HAIRitage Day® branding. This may include:
- Requesting immediate removal or correction.
- Revoking permission to use the logo.
- Terminating a vendor, volunteer, contractor, sponsor, or partnership relationship when permitted by the applicable agreement.
- Requesting removal of unauthorized online content through appropriate platform procedures.
- Sending a formal cease-and-desist notice.
- Seeking legal remedies when necessary to protect The Walker Foundation's intellectual property and reputation.
13. Written Permission
Any exception to this policy must be authorized in writing by an authorized representative of The Walker Foundation.
Permission granted for one event, project, or campaign does not constitute permanent permission or authorization for future use.
14. Acknowledgment
By receiving, accessing, displaying, or being authorized to use the HAIRitage Day® logo, the individual or organization agrees to comply with this policy and all additional brand guidelines issued by The Walker Foundation.
Policy Acknowledgment
I acknowledge that I have received and reviewed The Walker Foundation's HAIRitage Day® Logo Protection & Brand Use Policy. I understand that authorization to access or use HAIRitage Day® branding does not transfer ownership of that branding to me or my organization.
