Legal Notice & Program Protection

Organization: Hairitage Day (operated by The Walker Foundation)
1. Program Ownership & Intellectual Property Notice
Hairitage Day is a protected program owned and operated by The Walker Foundation. All intellectual property associated with Hairitage Day, including but not limited to:
- Curriculum and educational content
- Confidence framework
- Program structure and processes
- Hair-care educational modules
- Branding, names, logos, and marks
- Digital and printed materials
- Forms, waivers, and documentation
- Photography, video, and media assets
- Event experiences, formats, and processes
- Marketing and promotional materials
These materials are the sole property of The Walker Foundation and may not be copied, reproduced, reverse-engineered, repackaged, adapted, or used for independent programs, events, or commercial activities without express written consent.
Unauthorized commercial use, duplication, or adaptation is strictly prohibited.
2. Non-Recruitment, Non-Poaching & Non-Solicitation Notice
To protect the Hairitage Day program ecosystem, no individual, volunteer, partner, vendor, or organization may:
- Recruit
- Solicit
- Poach
- Hire
- Contract
- Divert
Hairitage Day volunteers, stylists, educators, partners, or staff for external programs, businesses, or events without written authorization from The Walker Foundation.
Violations may result in suspension, partnership termination, and legal action.
3. Photography, Video & Media Notice
Hairitage Day events may include photography and video for:
- Educational storytelling
- Confidence documentation
- Nonprofit reporting
- Public awareness
- Marketing and outreach
- Donor and grant communications
Parent or guardian consent is required for minors. Families may choose full, limited, or no media usage. All consent selections are honored.
4. Youth & Child Safety Notice
Hairitage Day prioritizes youth protection and employs:
- Parental consent procedures
- Volunteer screening
- Child-safety protocols
- Hair-care sensitivity considerations
Parents and guardians are responsible for disclosing allergies and sensitivities. No medical treatment is provided except in emergency situations requiring urgent response.
5. Disclaimers & Limitations of Liability
Participation is voluntary. Hairitage Day and The Walker Foundation are not liable for:
- Undisclosed allergies or sensitivities
- Reactions to professional hair-care products
- Damage to clothing, accessories, or personal belongings
- Misuse of products outside program supervision
- Social media reposting performed by families
- External entities not affiliated with The Walker Foundation
Hairitage Day does not sell personal data or share information with advertisers.
6. Non-Defamation & Public Discourse Notice
Participants, partners, and volunteers agree not to engage in defamation, slander, disparagement, reputation harm, false allegations, or malicious online commentary toward Hairitage Day, The Walker Foundation, stylists, volunteers, families, or partners.
Harmful communications may trigger legal remedies.
7. Sponsorship, Vendors & Partner Notice
Participation as a sponsor, partner, stylist, or vendor does not grant:
- Ownership rights
- Licensing rights
- Branding rights
- Program usage rights
- Intellectual property rights
- Recruitment access to volunteers or staff
All collaborations must be formally approved.
8. Reservation of Rights
The Walker Foundation reserves the right to:
- Deny or remove participation
- Amend programs and offerings
- Update policies and legal frameworks
- Protect its brand, curriculum, and ecosystem
- Pursue legal action for violations
9. Governing Law
This Legal Notice is governed by the laws of the State of Missouri and applicable United States intellectual property and privacy statutes.
